Myra Ward has been an artist for over 30 years. Her art work includes watercolor, pencil and oil paintings. She has sold some of her cartoons and illustrations to many national publications. She has taught art to elementary and middle school children during school and after school programs. She is a member of the Macon Art Alliance and Middle Georgia Historical Society.
However, Myra's talents go beyond art. She has been refinishing and caning for more than 10 years. Starting out as a hobby, Myra was self taught in seat caning as a way to "fix up" old porch chairs. Because of her love for antiques, she began The Cane Bottom Chair to re-salvage the old wicker and cane. Years later the business has transpired to include antique furniture repair and re-upholstery (another one of Myra's specialties).
In her spare time, Myra enjoys painting, spending time with her two grown children and her cat Miss SuzyQ.
